Ramin L. Mokhtari received his Ing. Degree in Electrical Engineering (Technical Informatics) from RWTH Aachen University.
He joined the CADIS GmbH in 1989 as IT Product developer (IT) to develop signal-processing tools for first cell phones. The company was later acquired by Synopsys Inc. (Silicon Valley CA/US) in 1994, where he continued as product manager for signal processing tools. In 1996, he changed to the development center of Deutsche Telekom AG to develop projects based on very large databases. Later he moved to the HQ of Deutsche Telekom in Bonn to develop the overall IT Strategy for the network centric computing and to transfer data to what we call “cloud” today. In 1997, he moved for the Deutsche Telekom to Silicon Valley (CA/USA) and later started the TVenture of America, as Managing Director, to invest in startups developing innovations for IT and Telecommunication sector. He invested in various companies and managed them via advisory- or board-seats. In this time he achieved high returns based on IPOs (Webex; $1,5 billion IPO) and various M&A.
End of 2001 he moved to E.ON Ventures in Germany as Investment Director to invest in startups developing products for Energy efficiency, solar, water and clean engines and finalized multiple IPOs (Comverge, $800m ) and M&As before he joined early 2004 a Solar company, Odersun AG, as CEO to produce thin film solar for BiPV. Early 2009 he moved to iLEDs GmbH as CEO to produce LED street lights.
Ramin is co-founder and CEO of ICE Gateway GmbH since 2013.
